I applaud the actions President Obama outlined on January 5, 2016 to increase background checks and otherwise control the proliferation of firearms.
I ask that the proposals include a requirement that a trigger lock is required to be sold or included with every firearm sold, along with instruction in its proper use.
The trigger lock should be installed on the firearm when it leaves the store / gun show / shipping warehouse.
It's a simple thing that might save lives. Cost? Around $10 per firearm.
