Require a Troponin blood test for children who have been sick for 1-2 weeks or who are in respiratory/cardiac distress.

We are asking that the American Heart Association require pediatricians/emergency room physicians to do a Troponin test on any child that is sick for 1-2 weeks or who arrives in the emergency department in respiratory/cardiac distress.
Please recommend that: 1) Physicians and parents instruct kids to refrain from aerobic exercise until full recovery in the week after a viral infection. 2) Pediatricians perform a Troponin blood test or EKG testing on kids who have persistent viral/flue symptoms for 1-2 weeks. 3) Emergency department physicians perform a Troponin blood test or EKG testing on any child that arrives in the emergency room in respiratory or cardiac distress.
