To many Americans, Elected Representatives are nothing more than nameless suits and ties in a distant government building, ruling the country from afar. There is a disconnect between U.S. Representatives and the Americans they represent.
Representatives should make it part of their REGULAR responsibility to put out engaging videos, voice recordings, and letters on the internet, TV & radio explaining to the American people (in layman's terms) what they're up to, what they're fighting for, what they're fighting against, and why they're doing so, in order to reconnect the Government with the People. Also, traditional town hall meetings should be frequent and WELL ADVERTIZED.
If U.S Representatives did a better job at relating to their constituents, more people would be politically active.
