Require that unemployment recipients "work" (at least part-time) while receiving benefits, pulling their weight.

Let us work in return for our unemployment benefits!
No self-respecting American citizen wants to be unemployed. Millions of good people have been laid off recently. Under our current laws, unemployment checks are handed out left and right, with very few restrictions on the recipient.
Good, responsible Americans on unemployment should be and ARE willing to give back and help our ailing economy by working on government projects, roadways, schools, infrastructure, etc. Even 20 hours per week devoted to public service or project construction, would leave 20 hours a week for job searching, which is more than most people invest in finding a new job in this economic climate. Those on unemployment that feel this is unreasonable, they are not TRUE AMERICANS, and only want a free ride.
