The possibility of voter fraud and voter suppression opens to question the legitimacy of every individual holding elective office in the USA. Requiring every voter provide a unique physical artifact, such as a legible fingerprint, when registering and when voting, would remove the likelihood of voter fraud, as anyone casting a fraudulent vote could be identified with certainty if a national database of registered voters were kept.
