It is now clear that pressure cookers can do more damage than even the most deadly assault weapons. We must protect ourselves and our children from this threat. As Americans, we have the right to walk down our streets without worrying about getting blown up by a pressure cooker.
I call on the Federal Government to pass a law requiring that all purchasers or current owners of pressure cookers be subject to an FBI background check to insure that they are not felons or mentality ill or affiliated in any way with terrorists.
We must also make sure to close any potential loopholes, such as garage sales and flea markets and thrift shops. Criminals must never again be allowed to get their hands on these deadly devices.
This is clearly a common-sense solution that we can all agree upon.
