Require Universities and Colleges to provide a link on all website pages with appropiate contacts for students in crisis

Created by N.S. on November 19, 2014

I am a college student; a college student aware of the facts.

Suicide is the third highest cause of death in college-aged individuals. In 2005, over 4,200 individuals, age 15-24, committed suicide in the United States.
Another troubling statistic is the number of sexual assaults that occur on college campus. About 1 in 4 women will be sexually assaulted during her college career, though 60% of these assaults will not be reported to police.

With suicide and sexual assault being so prevalent on college campuses, it is troubling how difficult it is to find necessary resources on college and university websites. I propose a mandate for all schools to provide a link for students in crisis at the bottom of every webpage with appropriate contact information for internal or external resources.
