Postal vehicles are not equipped with Air Conditioning. Letter Carriers have to endure more heat than is measured outside the vehicle; it is typically 10-15 degrees hotter inside the vehicle than out. Carriers are in these vehicles for six hours or more every day, and get no respite from extreme heat. USPS has been profitable for the last several quarters, and it is reasonable to expend some monies on the rank and file rather than give it to Managers as bonuses. Postal vehicles also do not have Air Bags or ABS brakes, yet all these things come standard on every new passenger vehicle. It is time USPS put their money where their mouth is, and be truly concered about employee well being and safety.
