Require the US Senate and House of Representatives to be in session for 5 days, three weeks per calendar month

Require US Congressmen and women, as well as US Senators to represent their constituents in person in Washington. This requirement will encourage conversation and familiarity which will lead to more civil discourse and empathy for opposing points of view. This petition will require members of congress to be in Washington most of the time and be a part of the Washington community. Congress should be in session and roll calls should be taken with the results published on a US Senate or US House web site. The sessions should be Monday thru Friday, three weeks per calendar month. The fourth week should be set aside for Senate and House members to return to their districts. Summer recess should be 5 weeks and the holiday recess should be two weeks.
