Require USPS to recognize hotels, motels, college dorms, nursing homes, and Veterans' hospitals as legal addresses.

Created by C.C. on September 09, 2012

I currently live in a hotel in zip code 22033, Fairfax, Va. I've noticed that others who live here, one Veteran for over 15 years, have had problems registering to vote and/or getting mail forwarded due to the postal service's refusal to recognize hotels, motels, American Red Cross temporary housing, long-term facilities such as nursing homes and veterans' hospitals as permanent addresses. No address. No vote.

Natural disasters, the foreclosure crises, and loss of employment, ma jor illnesses are some of the reasons many Americans have been forced to live in non-traditional housing.

Therefore, I petition that living arrangements such as college dormatories, hotels, motels, Veterans' hospitals, and other domiciles be considered permanent and valid addresses.
