Not only did the Coast Guard fail to protect her from a rapist. They failed the give her the medical attention she desperately needed after suffering a broken jaw and nerve damage to her face.
The Coast Guard was fully aware of the assault that left nerve damage to her face, yet the US Department of Defense and V.A. refuses to pay for the surgery that would put an end to her constant and severe pain.
