It is every US citizen's right to vote; therefore, it is every US citizen's responsibility to educate themselves in what they are voting on.
Voting becomes a propaganda race, whomever has gotten their name heard and spoken about the most has an outrageously huge advantage in being elected as an official. Similarly, props and laws that become passed are done so through the amounts of signs and ads supporting it as opposed to logic and reasoning.
A test should be taken before voting, and consequently ample resources available to educate voting citizens. This test is not to question the intelligence of the citizen, but question their authority on the matters at hand. If a citizen does not have the proper knowledge, than how does that citizen have the authority to decide which way to vote?
