This weekend, 50 innocent people were killed in Florida with an assault weapon which, in Florida, can be purchased without a waiting period. This kind of lax regulations makes it far too easy for a person to get angry and make a snap decision to hurt others. Establishing a mandatory waiting period is a simple way to keep people from acting impulsively out of anger in a way that could destroy hundreds of lives. Nobody needs a gun that quickly for sport.
