The changing face of modern warfare means that many jobs in the military are open to both men and women. Additionally many of these jobs do not necessarily mean that the service member will be exposed to front line combat. It is the feeling of those who sign this petition that it is fair to require the same sacrifice from our young women in a time of war that we require from our young men. This means that men and women will be required to sign up for selective service after their 18th birthday and therefore become eligible to be drafted into the United States military in a time of war.
