Why should only men be required to sign up for Selective Service? Also, why should we be punished with fines and imprisonment for not signing up? Women have the same rights and freedoms as men do, so why should only one gender be required if needed to be called upon to defend these freedoms? Both genders are capable of lacing up the boots and going to war.
My proposal is that women should be required at the age of 18 to sign up for Selective Service. By using the excuse "They're women, so they shouldn't have to fight" is sexist and wrong. They are capable of going to war and having combat roles as well.
