Requirement of {Extensive} education of Consumer Math prior to graduation from high school.

Created by N.B. on November 17, 2012

Far too many kids entering adulthood (18), with the vast freedoms that come with it, are simply not educated enough in the financial matters of adulthood. Extensive education in this area should be required in all high schools. They should be fully informed of what all it entails financially to be on their own, what it really looks like. They should also practice/act out real life circumstance they may go thru. What does it really mean to lose your home? Have utilities disconnected when you have little ones to care for? How does it effect your life when you have to cover your car payments, insurance, car repairs, phone bill, living expenses, etc, and not have them covered by your parents? So many questions to be strongly posed to these kids, with eduction on how to handle those situations.
