As a high school freshman, i have noticed that there is a lack of education about things we will need to know how to do after we graduate. I know how to balance chemical equations, but I don't know how to balance checks. I have no idea how to buy a house, or pay taxes, or any of those things that ordinary people have to do. I've realized that our school teaches us things that most people don't even need to know, unless they're going to be architects, or scientists. I can understand basic algebra drills, but spending an entire year on learning about triangles is going a little far. As a young student, i ask the government to require the schools to teach us more about things we need to know, not just the things that can help the people who are going to be great. i don't want to be great.
