Our country has countless empty manufaturing facilities, some that date back to the 1920's. I propose that our government aquire these buildings in a project to help bring manufacturing back to the United States. It will put construction companies to work renovating the older buildings and also give corporations a reason to move manufacturing back to the United States.
Along with this program we can train create a program to train workers on manufacturing practices. This would entail, MRP, JIT and Six Sigma. We will need to educate our workforce, to ensure that larger technology companies will have the level of workers it needs.
