Reschedule cannabis from a schedule I to a schedule IV

Cannabis is currently listed by the DEA as a schedule I
substance; which means it has high potential for abuse and dependency, other substances in this category are heroin, LSD, and peyote. This is contradictory to the view of 19 states & DC who have passed legislation allowing patients access to medicinal cannabis. The federal government needs to reflect the view of its people, who support decriminalization of cannabis. Cannabis should be reclassified as a schedule IV drug; which means it has a low potential for abuse and dependency, other substances in this class are Xanax, Ativan, Ambien & Klonopin. This classification is for; sleep aid, anxiety medications, & pain management, this classification makes much more sense then a schedule I which has no known medical benefits.
