It creates an incarceration rate in America that is higher than all other countries, including North Korea and Iran, two highly oppressive countries whose governments are considered to have very low human rights consideration. It acts as a "gateway" for our government to further oppress and tyrannize Americans for other unjustifiable reasons. It ruins the lives of tens of thousands of Americans annually. If Americans wanted marijuana to be illegal, they wouldn't use it.
