Reschedule THC as a Schedule IV Drug to Reflect Science not Politics.

Created by D.D. on January 26, 2013

Cannabinoids, THC and the various components of Cannabis should be reclassified as a schedule IV drug as an interim step for an honest and scientific debate about Marijuana. Cannabinoids an active component of Cannabis is currently listed as a schedule I drug, which implies it has no medical benefit. However the Department of Health and Human Services is assigned the patent on cannabinoids, (http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL...) the patent describes various potential medical benefits.

It is time for a rational and scientific discourse about cannabis instead of the irrational and politically motivated criminalization of this naturally occurring plant.
