Rescind the 2013 pay raise for members of Congress

Created by K.C. on January 03, 2013

President Obama recently signed an executive order that will lift a ban on pay freezes for federal employees.
In today's economic environment, it sends a bad message to the American people to award members of Congress a pay raise. Their pay and benefits already far outstrip those of the average American taxpayer.
Senators and Congressmen need to show a measure of solidarity with those who pay their salaries. They should demonstrate that they are taking a personal stake in reducing government spending.
There are several related petitions but I believe that none of them would be approved. For example, there is no way that Congressional pay would be reduced to $75,000 for three years
