Rescind the Executive Order for pay increases for Members of Congress and other elected officials.

Created by R.L. on January 01, 2013

Whereas most Americans have not had pay increases for years, have been forced to take lower paying jobs, or have lost their jobs; and

Whereas the annual budget deficit of the United States is in excess of $1 trillion dollars; and

Whereas, it is important for elected officials, who are in the 1%, to "feel the pain" of the common citizen in order to best serve them; and

Whereas, in an act of fiscal irresponsibility and apathy for the plight of the 99% of Americans, the President has signed an Executive Order granting a pay increase of 0.5% to Members of Congress and other Elected Officials effective March 27, 2013.

Now be it resolved by the American People that we petition the President, to rescind the Executive Order granting the pay increase.
