Public Housing Units Built 50 Plus Years ago cannot survive without adequate funding. Currently, no future exists for Public Housing other than risky Tax Credit/Mixed Finance options. These options, although needed, do not address the fact that Public Housing Developments are Aging and in need of replacement. The Faircloth Amendment did not look far enough into the future to address the needs of today. Public Housing must continue, but in a new form... With modern technology, Public Housing can lead the way, but the outdated, irresponsible Faircloth Amendment is standing in the way of real progress. We need to Rescind the Faircloth Amendment and Refund Construction for Shovel Ready Public Housing Projects....
