Sheik Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi was the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar University who, throughout his career claimed the Jewish religion to be "evil" and who, in 2003, sanctioned suicidal terroristic "operations against all Israeli men, women, and children."
Yet on the day of his death, on 10 March 2010, the White House eulogized Tantawi as "a voice for faith and tolerance who was widely respected in Muslim communities in Egypt and around the globe, and by many who seek to build a world grounded in mutual respect."
Yet were a Klansman to have treated Blacks in the manner that Tantawi advocates for Jews—one would have difficulty imagining Obama lavishing such praise on a Klansman.
We therefore ask the White House to rescind its glowing eulogy for the racist and terrorist Sheik Muhammad Tantawi.
