Rescind the Mandate Requiring All Employers to Provide Insurance for Contraceptives, Despite Obama's 2/10/12 Compromise

Created by D.F. on February 12, 2012

The Dept. of Health & Human Services recently mandated that all employers, including religious employers, must provide insurance coverage for sterilization and contraception, including some abortifacients. This requirement violates the beliefs of many religious institutions, including Catholic hospitals and universities.

On Feb. 10, 2012, Pres. Obama announced an "accommodation," under which only religious institutions' insurers would be required to provide contraception, etc. This is a meaningless distinction, and it also fails to address self-insured religious institutions and other institutions that object to paying for such coverage.

Sign to let the Administration know that its "accommodation" is unacceptable. The HHS mandate still violates religious liberty and should be rescinded.
