Rescind the National Firearms Act of 1934

Created by J.K. on November 15, 2012

RECOGNIZING:
- That the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA34) creates an artificially-induced distortion in the firearms market;
- That NFA34 has had no measureable effect on crime reduction;
- That BATF(E) has since applied the principle of "constructive intent" in their capricious enforcement of NFA34;
- That there are people in prison for unknowingly or unwittingly violation NFA34;
- That BATF(E) rulings relative to NFA34 are arbitrary and confusing;
- That the NFA Transfer Tax levied against items amounts to "regulation by taxation";

THEREFORE:
We, the undersigned, respectfully request rescission of the National Firearms Act of 1934, and a review of cases of people currently and previously convicted of violations of NFA34 for potential Executive pardon and expungement of records.
