The recent go-ahead allowing oil companies to try to locate gas and oil pockets under the Atlantic Ocean by using sonic cannons should be rescinded immediately. The sonic booms will certainly deafen whales and other sea creatures, making them the swimming dead when they cannot use their own sonar. Eventually, the ocean itself will die. If the ocean dies, so too will the world we know. The risk is too great, the scale of the catastrophic repercussions incalculable.
