In August 2014, hundreds of women belonging to the Yezidi religious minority of Iraq were kidnapped by terrorists of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). When making a case for US airstrikes against these terrorists, President Barack Obama referred to reports of them “enslaving women and threatening the systematic destruction of an entire religious community.”
The airstrikes have occurred but the Yezidi women are still "enslaved" and are currently being sold to Moslems as wives and sex slaves. Hundreds of Yezidi women now face a serious threat to their honor, religion, and their very existence. This is becoming more grave with each passing day.
