Rescue Yezidis from Iraq's Mount Sinjar

Created by R.G. on August 13, 2014

Hundreds and possibly thousands of Yezidis are believed to have been killed by militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) since the fall of Sinjar, the main Yezidi-populated town in Iraq’s north. Tens of thousands of Sinjar residents fled the town after being told to convert to Islam or face death. Most of them still remain trapped on a nearby barren mountain, facing starvation. There is no time to waste, as many children and elderly have already succumbed to the brutal 110°F conditions. These people will surely face mass genocide or die on the top of Mt. Sinjar without help. For the sake of humanity, I urge the US to take a lead role in saving the lives of these innocent people.
