The WATCHDOG program is a way for Dads or any other male role model to volunteer their time in school for a period of time determined by the volunteers schedule. We believe that our presence in the school ads a positive male role model, help for the teachers and other school staff members and another level of security in a time when our schools need it most. We monitor doors, hallways and the perimeter of the school, help with learning by giving students who need it the one on one attention they may need. There is a $400 or so fee for the kit to get it started and the rest is on a volunteer basis. If we, as fathers, can be as involved with our children's education at an early age we may be able to stop bullying before it starts. We feel that it should be a K-8th grade program.
