The need for money harmfully influences the election process, allowing undue and unfair influence by those who gather and direct it to candidates.
We ask that appropriate Congressional committees research, study and publicly recommend ways to take vested influence away from those whose interests may not align with the interests of the citizenship of the United States.
Included in that research should be the use of the internet in voting, the elimination of paid advertising as a means to message the electorate, and guidelines for messaging that prevent and punish by misdemeanor the intentional misrepresentation of opponents.
