Do you believe hearing is just as important as seeing?
As many people age, they believe losing their hearing is just a way of life.. that they should just deal with it.
I was born with hearing loss... People assumed I was just slow at learning. I have always felt out of place because of what I missed out on because I could not 'hear' everything.
Hearing aids are expensive. It cost me $5,000 to get hearing aids... and insurance did not cover one penny of it.
I feel hearing aids are very behind on technology. When I wear them, I feel like I am literally talking into a microphone and background noises become a distraction (such as one rattling paper).
Most people do not get hearing aids because they cannot afford them. All I am asking for is a fair chance to those with hearing loss.
