Thorium reactors can be used to dispose of existing Transuranic waste from current reactors. Can produce Plutonium 238 for NASA. Produce medical isotopes for cancer treatments. Can use the waste heat to desalinate sea water because we are depleting our aquifers faster than they can be replenished naturally. Can help to make fertilizer for food/agriculture. Energy can be cheaper and safer and more abundant. Reducing the need to burn fossil fuels and reduce pollution. Reducing health risks and ailments. Would encourage also the reopening of rare earth mines in the US freeing us from the export ban of rare earth metals from China, allowing us to restart High Tech manufacturing here.
