I think that america should consider the idea of the criminal population optionally turning hand cranks or exercise bikes
to generate electricity to reduce their prison sentence. It wouldn't be cruel and unusual because it would be completely optional, generate extra energy for our power consuming nation, give criminals a way to work to get out of jail, and fight obesity in prisons. It would solve many problems in america like making clean energy, fighting obesity, giving prisoners something to do that is productive for society.
