Texas is the number one carrier of international refugees and home to thousands of Syrian refugees. The 48th Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott sent a letter to President Obama stating, "Texas will not participate in the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the wake of the Paris terrorist attack."
The United States has pledged to accept 10,000 Syrian refugees in the next year, but more than 10 states have closed their doors to incoming refugees.
It is our responsibility to take in the Syrian refugees and protect them from terrorist attacks similar to the one in Paris. We can no longer stand back and watch thousands of Syrians die due to the ignorance of Greg Abbott and other politicians.
We must unify together and welcome the Syrian refugees to the United States!
