All elected federal employees, eg. United States Senators, Representatives, and the President, resign their respective positions if a balanced, fiscally responsible budget is not met and agreed upon for the year 2013.
If any employee of any business in these United States were not doing their job, they would be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Federal Government employees, be they elected, appointed, or otherwise, should be held to the same standards.
