resist all calls to rush the U.S. into direct military involvement in the Syrian civil war.

Created by J.H. on August 27, 2013

Direct military strikes by the United States in Syria come with extremely high risk to vital US interests in the region as the eventual outcomes are far from certain.
Military intervention by the US could very well prove to aid in the success of extremist groups hostile to the United States and hostile to minority groups of Christians and Muslims within Syria.
No U.S. military intervention should happen in Syria without explicit Congressional authorization and UN Security Council approval. The U.S. should support a political solution that ends the war.
