Resolution for States to Expand Hit-and Run Protection to Animals

Created by E.P. on March 30, 2013

We would like the White House to call on the individual states to extend protection from hit-and-run drivers to include pets and livestock.

Currently there is only one state in 50 where it is illegal to strike an animal with a vehicle and then to leave it suffering on the road without even a call for help.

We believe a White House call for action would raise awareness and at the very least help educate drivers to the safe, proper, and humane response to striking an animal, whether the animal is a family pet or a farmers livestock.
