Resolve the budget crisis by asking Democrats and Republicans to make equal concessions.

Created by S.C. on January 05, 2013

Congress has demonstrated its inability to address long-term stabilization of the budget and national debt. This failure damages to the American economy, creates uncertainty for individuals and businesses, and weakens our standing with the rest of the world.

Whereas unacceptable demands from both Republicans and Democrats has resulted in deadlock, and whereas the national electorate is closely divided,

We propose that both sides be asked to offer concessions with equal dollar value over 10 years. This allows each side protect its most important issues.

The dollar value of the deal should be set in advance, any points of agreement are set aside and subtracted from the required concessions, and the value of concessions is determined by the Congressional Budget Office.
