The second amendment clearly states, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." These rights, however, have been infringed. State governments, such as the Illinois government, have passed strict laws that prohibit open carry, and restrict concealed carry privileges. The highest law in the country is the constitution and all other laws - federal, state, and local - must be in accordance with it. Because the second amendment is phrased so plainly, there is very little room for interpretation. Gun control laws are unconstitutional, and therefore are null and void. Therefore I ask the federal government to ban all enforcement of gun control laws.
