Whereas in the wake of the Newtown tragedy, policians are capitalizing on the deaths of children to push their agenda.
Whereas the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban had no effect on the crime rate.
Whereas District of Columbia v. Heller declared bans on certain classes of guns as unconstitutional.
Whereas 96% of US gun crmes involve ILLEGAL firearms.
Whereas magazine restrictions only affect law-abiding citizens and not criminals who can easily obtain them illegally.
Whereas Warren v. District of Columbia states that police have no duty to provide protection ofr citizens.
And whereas the 2nd Amendment states that gun rights "shall not be infringed (upon)."
We the People ask the government to respect our constitutional rights to self-defense and a well-regulated militia in this issue.
