respond to Japanese appeals for international aid to stop leaks into the Pacific from Fukushima's Daiichi Nuclear Plant

Over two and a half years ago, an earthquake off of Japan's coast caused a tsunami that badly damaged the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, leaking radioactive material into the Pacific. Following the earthquake, water contaminated while cooling the damaged reactor was stored in containers that continue to leak into the ocean despite assurances from Tokyo Electric and Power Company (TEPCO) that the situation was contained. We ask the Obama Administration to respond to TEPCO and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's request for international aid. Especially with Hawai'i, Alaska, and the West Coast within or bordering the waters affected, it is certainly in U.S. interests to have a clear understanding of the magnitude of the spill and assist in whatever capacity to stop the continuing leaks.
