On September 11, 2013 (awful publication date), Vladimir Putin's Op-Ed about war, the UN, and American exceptionalism was published in the NY Times. He, out of all people, should not be commenting on what makes our country great. This land is full of folks that are living proof that the opportunity to get ahead and follow your dreams are still very much achievable in an open society that, by law, protects our "right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!" Our "exceptionalism" is a living philosophy and ideal. We are still the "land of opportunity" and possessor of the "American dream" for the oppressed and economically challenged who can legitimately come to our shores and make a better life for themselves and their families through honest, hard work.
