Issue a directive to Congress to set limits on ALL civil servants salaries, including Congress and the President.
No civil servant should be paid more than twice the median household income which as of 2011 was $50,502.
Why should ANY civil servant make more than $100,000 while there are people in the United States living in EXTREME poverty?
Just between the President and Congress this will free up about $40,000,000 , sure it is small in comparison to the current financial crisis, but more than freeing up money that could be applied to essential services, it is a show of good faith, that our civil servants serve the people of the United States, if they are unwilling to do the job for reasonable pay there are MANY unemployed people willing to step into those positions.
