Restoration of Civil Rights

Created by P.S. on October 26, 2015

We need to standardized the "Restoration of Civil Rights" for ex-felons. Each state has their own guidelines, and waiting process. I would like to start with the State of Florida the waiting period is no less than seven (7) years for Restoration of Civil Rights or Alien Status under Florida Law, and Specific Authority to Own, Possess, or Use Firearms is a period of no less than eight (8) years after all sentencing, probation, community control, or parole is completed. The issue is the backlog, it could take five(5) to ten(10) years after the required time period is completed. It could be a total of 16 years for the whole process to be completed. If a ex-felon shows good moral character, and is a law-biding citizen the process should move faster through the system.
