There are many felons in America but that doesn't mean that they do not have the right to protect themselves or their family. Someone that was convicted of a nonviolent crime should have their firearms rights restored, The 2nd amendment states the right to bear arms, nowhere does it say that an individual should lose that right with a felony. If an individual has never shown any type of violence in their nature than that person should have the right to protect themselves and their family or other against individuals that do.
