American taxpayers invested over 9 billion dollars in the Constellation Program, yet it was killed by the Administration just as the program had begun to deliver the product, and 30,000 US rocket scientists and 150,000 technicians were laid off forever. Constellation was on schedule to replace the Space Shuttle with a cost effect means to deliver American astronauts to the Space Station we built, return to colonize the Moon, and send manned explorations to Mars and beyond. Ares I, the crew launch vehicle had been flight tested and flew perfectly. Orion, the manned deep space capsule was to be flight certified in time to replace the Shuttle, and Ares V, the heavy lift rocket, had tested it's engines and was ready for assembly and launch at KSC. Please restore America's space fairing status.
