The US should set the goal of having the fastest and most affordable internet in the world by the end of this decade. Such a plan should democratize access to world class internet connections for all Americans and sync private business interests with the needs of the American people.
First, reverse the trend in deregulation of the industry and break the virtual monopolies on internet delivery held by Comcast, Time Warner and Verizon.
Second, market competition must be introduced into the internet provider industry in order to provide consumers with higher quality and more affordable choices.
Third, the US government must invest in the future of American competitiveness and innovation by working with private businesses to building the finest internet infrastructure in the world.
