After filing for a chapter 13 bankruptcy and making every payment on time I came out thinking I'd have that "fresh start" bankruptcy is supposed to provide, instead the 90,000 in students I had now ballooned to 140,000 because during the bankruptcy the Student Loan companies use my default (which is part of why i had to file) to charge me outrageous penalties that I couldn't do anything about. The amount of money made off of student's defaulting encourages these lenders to default people in order to profit as these loans have no statute of limitations and never go away
